"The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box."

Limited Space Available in Workshop with Gregory Heisler

© Gregory Heisler |
Gregory Heisler will be in Santa Fe on February 17 to teach
a week-long workshop titled "Choice and Vision." This
workshop has been full for many months but has had several last-minute
cancellations and now has three spots open. If you are interested
in taking Greg's workshop or learning more about the week, call
the Workshops office right away at 505-983-1400, ext. 11. Following
is the course description:
The creative choices you make as a professional photographer
are like your fingerprints; their patterns are uniquely yours.
Whether aesthetic or technical, emotional or practical, conscious
or unconscious, such choices ultimately define your photographic
vision. This advanced workshop heightens your sensitivity to
the decision-making process, increases your awareness of the
creative possibilities available to you, and inspires you to
work with both new and existing tools in exciting, effective,
expressive, and unexpected ways. Our focus is not about validating
your present work but, rather, it’s about laying the
creative groundwork for the images you have yet to make, and
making them truly, authentically yours.
Daily explorations in the Workshops’ fully-equipped
studio or on location in Santa Fe offer each participant the
opportunity to work with existing or artificial light to illuminate
the subject and create new ways of seeing.
